I’m a PHP Web Developer based in Yorkshire between Sheffield & Leeds working on a freelance or contract basis.
During my 20+ years as a developer, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients on a huge number of projects. Ranging from corporate clients such as eBay, OneTel & eBuyer through to many digital agencies, software houses and SME’s.
I am flexible and will work in a way to suit you – remotely from my office in north Sheffield, coming in for meetings as part of your team, or working on site in your office.
I can work on projects with other developers or be trusted to work on projects as the only developer and am familiar with working in an Agile / SCRUM environment, using tools such as JIRA & Gitlab.
I’m a resource that’s on the doorstep and always available when problems need a rapid solution and some clear thinking.
I’ve extensive experience of using modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony and Codeigniter and am familiar with the use of design patterns in object orientated programming.
I have an excellent understanding of WordPress and am able to build themes & plugins from scratch, setup e-commerce sites, customise the CMS and integrate WordPress with other systems. Find out more »
I have an excellent knowledge of MySQL and XML, worked with large databases using Oracle and am familiar with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
Working on large-scale enterprise systems has given me valuable experience of setting up LAMP architectures (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) together with software such as RabbitMQ & Jenkins.
